Stevie Ray Vaughan began playing guitar at age 7. He dropped out of high school and moved to Austin, Texas. He played clubs with various bands before forming his own. The guitarist developed a following after performing at Montreaux in 1982. Vaughan played with David Bowie on Let's Dance and released his first album in 1983.
