Weird Al Yankovic: Word Crimes (2014)

This is Weird Al's best work. "Word Crimes" is a parody of grammatical miscues put to Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." The song reached #39 on the charts. Weird Al became the third artist to have Top 40 hits in every decade since the 1980s. The other two: Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Worst Song of the Year: Katy Perry: Roar (2013)

Katy Perry’s success is not based on talent. Let’s face it, she can’t sing a lick. “Roar” is cheesy, formulaic, and cliché. It is somewhat similar to “Firework” which features some of the worst singing in pop music history. In the end, “Roar” wins the award for worst song of 2013. In a world of “Blurred Lines” and Miley Cyrus, this says a lot.

Robin Thicke w/T.I. & Pharrell: Blurred Lines (2013)

The #1 song of the week. You can hear Prince and Michael Jackson's influence in this song.
This is the type of song that plants itself in your brain and NEVER leaves. Catchy, classic pop.
