Daryl Hall and John Oates met each other in 1967. After discovering they were into the same music, they began to hang out, and eventually formed the duo. They took time to find their own sound, but once they did, they became superstars.

Eddie Kendrick left after recording “Just My Imagination.” Paul Williams quit soon thereafter and committed suicide in 1973.
