Bryan Adams: Cuts Like a Knife (1983)

"Cuts Like a Knife" helped break Bryan Adams into the mainstream. It was one of the summer soundtrack songs of 1983. It reached #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 in Adams' native Canada. The Canadian remained a force in music for the next decade and continues to record.

Bryan Adams: In the Heat of the Night (1987)

The song was inspired by an Orson Welles film and a trip Adams took to Berlin in 1986. The Third Man is a noir classic remembered for its atmosphere and music.  The story revolves around a suspicious death. Meanwhile, Adams Berlin trip took place before the wall came down and “In the Heat of the Night” reflects the dark atmosphere of postwar East Berlin.

"Can't Stop..." is an example of Bryan Adams work before turning adult contemporary. The song peaked at #2 on the charts following the success of his ballad "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You." Although a huge monster hit, Adams shifted to ballads and away from his garage rock sound.
