Cosimo was a recording engineer and studio owner. He opened a recording studio in 1945 and moved to a larger installation in 1955. He focused on the "New Orleans Style" and died in 2014.

Dr. John's work encompasses jazz, zydeco, boogie woogie, rock n roll, and blues. He was a session musician that gained a cult following when he released his own work in the sixties. He incorporated a heavy New Orleans influence into his shows, which expanded his popularity.
