The Lovin' Spoonful: Summer in the City (1966)

Mark Sebastian wrote "Summer in the City" and submitted it to a magazine. His brother, John, reworked the poem for popular consumption. In production, the band added a car horn and jackhammer to add ambiance. The song feels like summer in the city.
