Ted Nugent: Stranglehold (1975)

Rock n Roll had hit a wall by 1974. Ted Nugent represented the next generation which helped reenergize the genre in the mid-70s. Although Bruce Springsteen is credited with saving rock n roll, Nugent, KISS, and other acts also emerged to reinvigorate the music scene in the face of evil disco. This song is just a classic jam.

Led Zeppelin: Travelin' Riverside Blues (1990)

Led Zeppelin covered this old Robert Johnson classic in 1969. However, the band did not release the song as a single until 1990 with the boxset compilation. Zeppelin's version is not a straight cover. Rather, it is more of a tribute.

R.E.M.: Driver 8 (1985)

"Driver 8" refers to a southern railroad that existed until 1979. The train has since been incorporated into Amtrak. IMO, this is one of the great underappreciated gems of the 1980s.
