Green Day
took inspiration from The Who and created their own rock opera. American
Idiot climaxes with “Homecoming.” The record follows the adventures of
Jesus of Suburbia, who transforms at the end of the story. A part of the main
character dies at the end and loses touch with whatshername. The journey's end is something we can all identify with.
